Do you think a california bar would accept a photocopy of your ID and a reciept for your replacement ID?
I lost my ID and a week ago I ordered a replacement, it could take up to 60 days to get here. I am visiting my home town for a week- and all my buddies want to go to a bar-- Do you think they would accept a photocopy of my ID that I lost, and the reciept for the replacement that I have not yet recieved?? and maybe my credit card? or do you think they would find that "fishy" and turn me down?
Answers:
It depends upon how much they are worried about losing their bar license. A photocopy is not a valid ID (as there is no way to determine if it was altered during the photocopying process). If the bar is edgy about liquor control having sent in undercover investigators, there is a good chance that they will not accept it. Since most bars are not particularly good about complying with liquor laws, you might just be able to pull it off.
Depends how strict they are. Normally I think they would just laugh at a photocopy of an id. But, there is only one way to find out.
Hmmm...I know people that carry around a photocopy of their ID and they have no problem pulling money out of a bank account with it...so I don't see why it wouldn't work for a bar either.
If they had any sense then no, they wouldn't let you in.
