How do I contact the Department of Health?
I recently went to a bar the other night and the floor was very muddy, the counter had so many cobwebs and dust everywhere, there were people smoking in plain view when it's illegal to smoke in a public place in NY state. It was screaming health code violation. I was wondering how do I find an address to write a complaint to? I live in erie county in New York. I was so confused about which address I would write to. Please help!
Answers:
Simply pick up the phone and call. Get the number out of the telephone book. When you call have the name and address of the bar along with the time you and date you visited the location. A letter is not necessary but if it makes you feel better go ahead and write one.
Most places with smoking bans require the phone number to report violations to be posted at the entrance to businesses. It should be VERY easy to find.
