Who can I contact in the California State Senate, or the California State Assembly, to begin an audit of?
The child care licensing agencies. Anyone can file a retaliatory and totally false complaint against a licensed child care provider, and the lie remains in the providers file forever, regardless to whether the complaint is proven false or not! Parents looking for child care have access to these complaints, whether they are true or not. There are no consequences or repercussions for people who file false complaints. I just want somebody to look at the system, and fix it if they can. Who can I contact in the California Senate or the California Assembly?
Answers:
Start a petition - that's the only way to get anything done in State Government. Politicians will only look at an issue if they think there's public support behind it (otherwise why stick their neck out).
Send a copy of your petition to every day care provider in the State, with a return envelope.
Other than that you can sue, but that could be very messy and expensive.
You should start with the licensing board instead.
