I believe you are free!
You don't have to be financially secure legally but you can't live on your own without money. It's impossible. Rent, food, bills (This means electricity, heat, hot water, cable, telephone and internet)... all that stuff costs money. So if you have none and no job, you can legally leave but it isn't the best choice. Because if you don't pay your bills, they'll cut off your services. If you dont' pay rent or pay late (in many cases late rent means not paying rent by the first day of the month), they evict you.
But no, there isn't any law that says you can't live on your own and be broke. And be careful.. they may not rent to you without a cosigner unless you're a certain age and that may differ from place to place. And there are very few legitimate landlords that will rent to you if you can't prove you can afford it. It's a liability for them.
People move out at eighteen all the time though. University students are the perfect example. I graduated early and left home at barely seventeen to attend university.
You do not need to be 19 to move out. You do not need to be financially ok. But if you are not financially ok, and your parents will still support you, why would you move out?
Stay with your family, get a job (if you don't have one already) earn some money and save it up. Then move out in 3-5 months when you have at least the start of a nest egg.
