Can Anyone Help Us??
My Dad has been working in the truck bussiness way before i was born. just recently he bought a new volvo comercial truck. on the first day right when he was leaving the dealership he felt that something was wrong with the steering wheel. He went back and got it fixed. If he would have gone back home with the steering wheel problem he probably would have been killed. But our problems didnt end there. He got a load to Canada (really close to the border to alaska). His truck broke down. It Just wouldnt start. he lost his load which cost us a lot of money. In a nearby body shop they helped him start it. then his rear brakes broke. They didnt come to help him this time. he had to drive the truck witt the boken rear brakes all the way to edmonton, canada. The company claims that it would be too expensive to send a towing truck there, so my dad was forced to drive there. If that wasnt bad enough, he was sitting without food in shelter because he had no money to pay for a hotel.

Do not be timid in your complaints to Volvo:

File a complaint with the BBB and keep all your records, dates and correspondence; including receipts and repair bills.

The truck is subject to the terms of the warranty, that would be a good place to start. The warranty may not actually cover lost wages, or additional accommodation if there is an issue with the vehicle (as most do not).
If the company has signed off on the inspection knowing that there were issues. An independant inspection would have verifies this, then you may have grounds to reclaim damages.
Did you buy the truck in Canada, are you Canadian, where exactly did that occur. Each jurisdiction has a system in place to help people in your predicament.
I drove trucks for a long time and had similar problem in Ontario. Fortunately for me there was a system in place to protect my interests. In the end all worked out ok. (Ministry of Commercial and consumer relations)
Good luck
I would call an attourney and discuss the entire situation with them. This is pretty dishonest of them and it happens alot. People need to stand up to these clowns and make them pay.
I do not by any means work for Volvo, but I have been a Ford employee for 3 years and I also work in the service Dept. Towing of a vehicle rather large or small is still covered under the manufacturer warranty. Volvo is required to tow the vehicle to the nearest dealer with no charge to the customer or owner as long as the truck is under warranty. I would definitely contact the dealer. The dealer should have a number for your father to call in case of a mishap. Either they will cooperate under the guidelines of warranty and the state safety law or can be sued. You dad is also capable of returning that rig under the lemon law act. Check into it. You will have more than enough information you need to stand you ground and make Volvo either replace the rig or make them buy it back. That is also listed under the Lemon law.
Good Luck and do some checking.

You need to get a Colorado lawyer for this, because the sale of the truck occured there. There are express warranty issues, implied warranty issues, and product liability issues that are all governed by state law. There may be other interstate issues, but the place to begin is at the point of sale. There is likely a statute of repose (time limit for filing suit) so you should act quickly and your concenrs over the end of the express warranty are also valid. Contact the Colorado State bar association for help finding a lawyer there.
Emphasis should be placed here; do not delay in acquiring legal help on this issue, unnessary delay could drastically affect what your legal options are. Links provided above to BBB are a superb resource. Cobar link below.
