Should i take legal action?
Okay.. so my coworker comes up to me with my picture in a well known legit magazine..since i am a part time model and i had absolute noooo clue, so i was shoked and excited and all but at the same time i started wondering why i wasn't informed by the photographer? plus i wasn't compensated for the shoot, it was TFCD shoot, it was a total coincidence that i found out, so what should i do about this, and maybe there are more pics that i don't know about, i have another shoot this weekend and i'm thinking of making like a form they can sign w my own rules and stuff.. what do u think??
Answers:
find out who the photographer working on the shoot was, he may have been compensated for submitting your picture in some way. you should definitely have known about this if during the shoot you were under contract unless you signed some sort of waiver, and you may also have a right to be compensated.
you didn't by chance sign any papers without reading them did you? even the fine print...
Before you take any action, talk to the photographer. You should have kept this on record. =\ Ask why you weren't compensated and only press charges if you feel you were.."cheated out" of this. Also, the idea of that form, that is a good idea, but try to see if they have a contract or something that you could sign first. Otherwise make a form, but do be advised that if you do make a form, they might find you "hassle-some" and go to another model. Good luck with you issue and i hoped i helped somewhat with my little knowledge. :-)
