Im fed up of being ignored by recruitment agencies...?
Should i beef up my CV?
Basically just say i went to uni, got a 1-1 in physics or computer science and say i spent the last 2 years working with sick kids for UNICEF?
If they check out the details, they will notice i lied, if they dont i will have a chance.
Either way, the worst thing that can happen is that i dont get the job, or im asked to leave the job after having a months excellent pay... but it beats working in a bad job for bad money dont it?
Is it work lying about stuff on a CV and is it illegal? If it is, how illegal? Its illegal to smoke weed but u dont go to jail for it unless your selling. so whats the risk?
Answers:
they will ask for references and if the job you was applying for was that good then yes they would check. or with in two hours of working they would know that you have no idea what you are doing. .. best thing to do is go to college, get a qualification in something, you will never be out of work then as you will have a skill others cant offer
you can make i sound better without lying. Be honest and positive. Ring them and pester them - if your keen - they'll send you out to work.
a lot of people lie.. they get caught out though. better to be honest.
agencies only contact you when its in THEIR interest.. or when they can make a shed load of money out of you
deal with companies direct also.. ya never know.
Tell the truth and shame the Devil.
Be yourself, don't make yourself something you are not. Present at the Job Centre with your full CV and sit there with a smile on your face, not a scowl and see if that helps.
You seem to think that jobs grow on trees, well they don't and you will learn the hard facts when you get a job.
Lying to get a job will render you liable to instant dismissal if the truth comes out. Do you really want to be looking over your shoulder all the time?
Wise up and get on with your working life.
You are apparently a clever'chap' so think logically! It's not illegal to lie in most cases but if you lie on your CV then you will probably get caught out sooner or later - perhaps in an interview or even worse - if you get a job and are asked to do something you said you could but you really can't.
Life's a ***** quite a lot of the time but don't give up.
Do you seriously think that graduates with no experience can get jobs at recruitment agencies any better than you can - ha! They just want bog standard labourers and office juniors who will work for a pittance.
Go direct to the companies you want to work for and present them with a portfolio.
Grow up, try a bit harder, and stop blaming everyone else for your problems. If you are unemployed you can do plenty of free courses that will improve your CV in an honest way.
To be honest, most agency staff couldn't find their **** with both hands. They tend to look at a CV for keywords to fill a job they know nothing about i.e a networking job they'll look for cisco or router rather than if you just put down "I have 10 years experience in networking". Trust me, I've worked in IT for nearly 10 years as a systems engineer and network engineer, and for a few years found it really hard for agencies to call me back, even though I was over qualified for jobs I applied for.
My advice to you is to tailor your CV to fit the job spec your applying for. You don't have to lie, but explain more in depth about what you have done to link it to the job you want to apply for.
Good luck
How old are you and what career did you envisage you would be developing when you took computer science?
Are you currently unemployed or trying to change jobs?
