Legal documents for living will?

is there a website that i can get a free legal document for living will? and one that states who i want the custody of my kids to go to?

Answers:
A Living Will is a document that legally states the person does not want any extraordinary procedures to be done at the time of their death. It is also called an Advanced Directive. That is not the document you need.

A Will can be drafted by a licensed attorney in your state to include a clause stating who should be guardian of your children if you should die before they reach the age of majority (18). The attorney can also include a clause that sets up a financial trust, a trustee, and instructions that any money which is passed to the child should be put into the trust for their welfare/education.

When you are dealing with guardianship for your children it is more than a FREE document off the Internet can do. Each state has very specific rules and procedures about what makes a Will legal in that state. If you do not follow those rules and procedures to the letter you are opening up the Will to legal action by others.

Contact your local bar association to get a referral in your area for an attorney who drafts Wills. Good luck.
