When is it okay or acceptable to break the law or rules?

Give examples

Answers:
In an emergency, like breaking into a house when it is on fire, speeding to get someone tto the hospital, etc.
It is never okay.
To kill when it is in self defense
Life or death situation. For example, if you've been shot and need to get to the hospital, you should be able to speed and not stop for the cops.
When nobodys looking
When not breaking the law would result in someone's death, or extreme harm.

Example. I am driving to the hospital. My friend is bleeding to death in the seat next to me. Should I obey the speed limit and come to a complete stop for 2 seconds at stop signs?
Or should I break the law to try and save my friend's life by getting to the hospital quicker?

Edit: For those of you who say it's never acceptable to break laws or rules, remind me to never rely on you in a life-or-death situation.
when you're broke. not paying parking meters
Depends on the situation.
It is never acceptable to break the law or rules.

If you don't like the law or the rules, you can frequently take action to change them. Otherwise, you can expect to face unpleasant consequences for violating the law.
Hey its a free counrty you can do as you please, just be smart and dont get cought. One very popular book tells you indirectly how to evade taxes.
I don't believe it's okay to ever do it.

But then you see millions of people getting away with breaking the law every single day in our country: illegal border crossing. If I ever get arrested for anything, I'm going to try to tell the cops, the judge and the jury that it was only because "I wanted a better life for me and my family".

The door only swings one way for white people in this country and it sure as heck isn't in our favor.
By the way, don't use the race card on me if you're offended.
When you plan to make new ones.
