Freedom of Speech?

Why is it we can exercise our freedom of speech only as long as the police will allow us.then when they've had enough or some public official or politician gives them the order they remove you for disturbing the peace? Kind of like their on personal Gestapo.

Answers:
Thats why politicians screen thier audiences. They don't want people who have serious questions about their past connections with lobbyists or special interests. but we the people will ask the serious questions no matter how many are taken out by police and secret service scum.

Where is that happening?
Well, there are exceptions to freedom of speech, like fighting words, and the peace officers always have the responsibility to protect others, so if the speech is causing problems, they can make you move and even cite you for disturbing the peace.
Do you have an example?
It does seem this sometimes happens, but not too often. Are you referring to a particular instance?
I suppose it depends on when and where you're trying to exercise that right. If, for example, you barged into a private fundraiser and began shouting vituperations at the guest of honor, that would be inappropriate, and also tresspassing. It's not okay to break other laws.
Please, just read the constitution, you know, first ammendment, then go to a more important site and get to work.
Protestors are not usually arrested for what they're saying. Usually it's for blocking traffic after thier parade permits have expired (or when they lay down in the street specifically because they want the photo op of being dragged away by police in riot gear), or when they upgrade to full-on rioting with violence and destruction of private and public property.
Because the freedom of speech does not give you the right to disturb the peace. Pretty simple really.
You have to use discretion. Were you disorderly? If you were they can arrest you for disturbing the peace or disorderly conduct. It's the law
That's not true. You can exercise your freedom of speech as long as you're not harming anyone, or therefore violating anyone else's rights when doing so. If you got arrested during a protest, or what have you then you were probably being violent or harassing someone. Tell the whole story.
