What does it mean when people say "i plead the fifth?

Answers:
When someone states "I plead the fifth", they are invoking their 5th amendment constitution right not to say anything that will incriminate them. If they are testifying at trial and an answer will show that they did something wrong or illegal, they don't have to answer the question. Unless they are the person on trial. If an accused takes the stand, they have to answer all questions.

They are opted to not answer as the answer could self incriminate them in a crime.
they not talkin. if u watch the dave chapelle show season 2 u can see a sketch when he explains how the "fif" amendment works
It mean, "I'm guilty and don't want to incrimnate myself, which is my right under the constitution".

it means if you answer the question you will be admitting to a crime you have not been charged with.
It means that they are exercising their Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. Remember, when speaking to the police or when testifying in court we have the right to remain silent because anything we say could be used against us.
the fifth amendment means is the amendment that protects you from saying something self incriminating so they shorten it to i plea the fifth
it means they want to drink a small bottle of whiskey! fifth!
to plead the fifth amendment (constitution). This amendment states that you have the right to not answer any questions, etc. so pleading the fifth states that you do not want to answer that question. Look up the fifth amendment on Google, you can read the whole thing.
