If companies claim to be an Equal Opportunity Employers, why ask questions about your race and sex?
Why is it be important?
Answers:
A lot of companies, depending upon their size and if they do government work, have to file reports with the government listing employment roles by sex and race.
Doesn't make sense, the government says you can't make hiring decisions based upon these factor then requires you to get the info from your employees.
That is for reporting purposes only.
Race and sex based laws defeat the purpose.lol
so they can show they are not discriminating.
so they can give the least qualified minority the job
In order to carry the EOE lable they are required to report periodically to the Dept of Labor on the demographics of the people they are interviewing for jobs and who they are hiring.
Some companies like to ensure they are fair and multicultural so they like to know how many men/women and races they have employed.
It's supposed to make sure they are not being biased - but by keepig quotas they are actually being biased. They should just hire the best person for the job, not a token person to keep the quota right.
To make sure of Equal Oppor tunity for all employees.
