Ive had sky/skyphone/sky broadband for 2mths...theyr increasing prices r they allowed to do this (read on)?

They're increasing call costs, connection fees and more...just wandering if they are allowed to do this(as you can tell I cant be bothered to read T's and C's)
They have given me written notice, but what if i dont agree to the increase...does that mean I can cancel my contract without any fees-10mths early or not?

Answers:
some where in the paperwork will be a small sentence saying prices correct at the time of printing and are subject to an increases at any time. This always happens to me as well. You will not be able to cancel early with out a forfit unfortunatley.

Doubt you can cancel..somewhere in all those bright pictures of happy people in the Brochure will be a clause that says they can increase their charges.should read the small print.
Read your contract.
Read the contract and you will find that they have made provision for raising prices. If you can find nothing relating to such a contingency then write to them and cancel your contract giving them a month notice, on the basis that they have not kept their side. Ask them to tell you where in the contract there is a clause allowing them to do so. If they show you one all is not lost as it could come into the realms of an unfair contract clause.
The only way to tell is to read the T&C's that you signed up to. In future dont sign anything till you know exactly what you are getting into.
Being a big company I am sure they have covered for this eventuality and you probably wont be able to get out of the contract early without massive fees.
I have several times successfully gotten out of contracts when the company raised prices unexpectedly---ie, I was with Cingular for 3 months, they doubled the price of my plan. According to the terms and conditions of the contract, it's perfectly legal---BUT, if you fuss and complain enough and keep asking for a manager, keep insisting you want out (and you want out NOW), and eventually they'll let you out just to get rid of you.

Sadly, any large corporation can be manipulated this way. It shows that they know their policies are ridiculous, but are only willing to bend for the people who have the time and money to really fight them. It's messed up.
