Is it true that once you turn 18 they clear your criminal records?
Ive heard that before, is it true or false?

Yes and no.
Any criminal charges that occurred when you were a juvenile are sealed -- they cannot be used against you except for very specific situations. But they are only sealed, not erased.
Criminal records are not expunged when turning 18 years old unless requested.
As long as it was in family or juvenile court the records are closed to the public.
Yes, b/c then you are an adult. Now, if you get a record it sticks for life. So, don't even think about it.
What you hear and what is done are two different things. You get a traffic ticket or if you commit a crime it will always be on record, even though it is to be cleared it will be on record forever. Now they are using finger printing kids for in the future if a crime has happened they have finger prints in the system. They use the excuse if they ever get lost or kidnapped. Now even to go a step further their started getting DNA from young ones, convicts and anyone else who are willing to give up their DNA so all the info is in computer.
