Does this mean that i should be in jail or prison too?

on a website that i found, someone states "Jail/Prison is the best place for people who take someone life." well i took the life of a 21 year old girl back in june. it was a complete accident, i didn't see her until it was too late. does that mean that i deserve to be behind bars to?

Answers:
after reading all the information, i do believe that it was an accident and you should not go to jail.i believe that all people are innocent until proven guilty and it seems to me that you were proven innocent so i would not worry about what the website says...things happen in life for us to learn something from...maybe yours was to teach you to love the LORD and turn your life over to him and maybe that is the lesson for the family of the girl as well. i looked up the accident and it was in the wichita falls texas newspaper for june 29 2007...good luck to you in life and may GOD give you peace with yourself and her family

Yup..
Your incident was not a crime, it was an accident. Image all the people who willingly kill their kids in abortion.
no.
its was an accident.
and ask her family to forgive you.
Yes. Accident or not; you killed her.

Regardless of your mounds of excuses, you killed a human being and its a shame you are not behind bars.

Her poor parents has to live with an "It was an accident so please dont hold it against me."

I'm sure that comforts them.
i dont know your cicumstances but the best answer would be yes.. its a term called manslaughter weather it be premedatated or just an accident... if it was an accident prob serve most 3-6 years half taken off for good behavior. prison and jail is not that bad
No accidents are accidental, no-one is to blame/ to be punished.
If you were driving unimpaired or undistracted, I would say no, that is an accident. If however, you were impaired by drugs, alcohol, etc; or you were texting away or talking on your cell phone that in my opinion is wreckless and negligent and you need to pay for the negligence in some meaningful, character changing way. People do not have the right to go scott-free when they take anothers life through negligence or driving impaired.

Only you know if this was a pure accident. If it was not, then you need to do something to try to ammend for the life that was taken. Whether it is helping the family of the victim or doing lots of community service, this is something you need to figure out. If you are guilty of negligence, you will never heal
until you set a plan to compensate for your action

At any rate, if this is a sincere post, you are obviously feeling guilty about what has happened. If it was a pure accident then talk to someone that can help you get through this. Unfortunately, as the phrase goes, sh*t happens. This is a tough one and I truly feel for you and my best hopes and wishes go out to you.

Edit: Thank you for the updated information. I hope you do not feel I was one who was judging you because I most certainly am not. That is why I encourage you to continue to talk and work out your feelings. What happened to you makes you as much a victim as the person who died. My heart goes out to you and I hope you will be able to come to peace with the fact that it was indeed an accident.
Depends on your circumstances.

If you deliberately took someone's life, then you are a criminal. To the prosecution, the death penalty or life-time prison without the possibility of parole is acceptable.

To the defense, a mental hospital or getting completely off is good. If you have to go somewhere, I can assure you you will have alot more rights in a mental hospital and opportunities for more rights. You are not forced to stay in your room for any length of time.

Now in my opinion, and this is just me, if you deliberately killed someone, you need to die. However, it sounds like you maybe had a car accident or was shooting a gun and it killed someone not looking. I would have to look more of the situation to determine to further answer you.

If you have a choice, go with the mental hospital.
Yes, you should be in jail or prison if you left the scene of an accident. Also, if you were under the influence of drugs or alcohol when you hit her, or were speeding, you belong in jail/prison.
You get what the judge and/or jury decides you deserve.

The penalty for manslaughter is imprisonment. The precise term of years depends upon the applicable statute. Usually the sentence that is imposed for voluntary manslaughter is greater than that given for involuntary manslaughter. In most states, a more serious penalty is imposed for criminally negligent manslaughter than for unlawful-act manslaughter.

The statutory maximum for involuntary manslaughter is 6 years.

The guideline range at Criminal History Category I without acceptance of responsibility is 6-12 months imprisonment (with acceptance of responsibility, 0-6 months).

The guideline range at Criminal History Category I without acceptance of responsibility is 15-21 months (with acceptance of responsibility, 10-16 months).

Just because one person stated "Jail/Prison is the best place for people who take someone's life" does not mean everyone agrees with that statement. If someone in the military kills an enemy soldier, does that soldier deserve to go to prison? If I kill someone who breaks into my house and threatens my family, should I go to jail?

I could never judge you. I feel for you. It's so easy for someone to go online and pass judgment and state whatever theory without having to substantiate it. Never take anything someone like me says online and take it to heart. We are all human, and make mistakes.
