My 19 year old cousin wants to marry our other cousin who is 13?
They are not technically cousins cuz our other cousin was from my Uncle's wife's other marriage with a guy she met worked on the railroad. But some of the family still thinks its wrong to have relations with your cousin. I'm trying not to pick sides but my parents won't stop arguing about it. Oh and 12 is the legal marrying age here for boys, and 10 for girls, so it's all right.

I would say it is fine based on that they are not blood related, next time you post a question like this in english for all of us stateside who read this, leave the ages out, so you don't get all these responds of oh that gross or thats wrong, I find it wrong but, you're culture is different than ours. Oh and the fact that she looks 16 when she is really 13 does not help the case at all
Do you live in Alabama, perchance?
sure
Wow! Way too young! Should be illegal! I'd hate being semi-related to both my family and my in-laws!
Eeeeewwwww.
Tell him to get with someone his own age. And cousin just makes it more gross.
Marrying age is 10 for girls??!! What the hell state are you in? In what universe can a 10-year-old, which means a fourth-grader, enter into a valid contract (which is what a marriage is)?
Move out of the sticks, man. This is 2007.
~ And who gives a damn how old she LOOKS? Are you kidding me? Just cause you apparently live in a state loaded with child molesters and hicks doesn't make it right to marry a damn 13-year-old.
Somebody call Chris Hansen! If this were an internet relationship instead of a family-sanctioned statutory rape, the FBI would be breaking down your door.
well if they're not cousin then its alright ppl love who they love.. sorta, what I'm really worried about is the "she's 13" part. It might be legal for her to marry at this age but she is not physically or mentally ready for this. no matter what the law says, a child is child and marriage is no where near what she should be thinking seriously about at this point in her life.
if u don't mind me askin what country, state, city do u live in?
cuz I realize in other countries marriage customs are different.
Where are you claiming to be from that those are the legal marrying ages?
Since there is no blood relation between the two it is not that bad. I personally would not do it. But I would not judge someone else for doing it.
However the age thing is really what gets me. 13 is way to young to be married especially to a 19 year old.
Yeah the problem isn't that their "cousins" their not blood related so it doesn't matter... the problem is that she's ONLY 13! How is that not illegal? Your parents should be disscussing that fact not that their second cousins!! What's he thinking, she's way to young to make a decision like that!! That's just wrong... sounds like he's taking advantage of a situation where the girl is too young, gullible, and impressionable to make a decision for herself.
oh, please, just tell the 13 year old, that the 19 year old probably just wants u beacuse of something like s*x or something tell the 13 year old to just think about other cute boys or girls that he or she will see when he or she is 19 years old, that is not a healthy relathionship. and the boy has to work harder cuz i dont think the parents r going to help them after a year or something. tell the 13 year old that does she or he had their first kiss yet. its not good for them 2 get married now.
ok.well he should get a girl that is his own age because it just seems weird 2 marry a person that young... and techincally they are not cousin, only thru marriage...
This is very sick and twisted, what kind of person wants to marry their own cousin? I dont understand how a 10 year old can get married but cannot vote or buy cigarettes!
I'm from the US, and it seems to me that 13 is extremely young to get married, though it is legal where you are from, so that is not my biggest concern (if everyone goes through it there...). My concern is that the 19 year old is more mature than the 13 year old and they are not ready for some of the responsibilities of an adult. I believe at 13 (even 19, most times) you are still a child. But again, I do not live where you do and was brought up with different beliefs.
Also, they're not blood related, so I think it would be okay. It would probably be uncomfortable for everyone, but...
