I wrote to the head office to demand a apology they ignored my first letter. after the second and a angry phone call from me they looked into it . the letter i recieved from them they have ignored all of my questions and not apolligised or even agnolaged my questions this was much more involved than this but i am so angry as this has left me with a fear of going into shops also my reputation and honesty has been questioned in such a public manner , Ireally would like help to fight this large company but need some support .

What were you doing that caused him to stop you? Were you dressed in a berka and pretending to steal? That way you could cook up a lawsuit. If you weren't doing anything wrong, you wouldn't be upset. Would you?
A security guard may question any one he pleases. If store security was watching him do this and found no fault in his actions you have no recourse.
What, exactly, do you want an apology for? And what is it you fear? Security guards?
Some stores question everyone going through the exit.
First is the person that stopped you was wrong, security in the store was wrong, store is wrong so go to CAB or similar and seek advice.
Failing that take to people to court
.
Good Luck
Sorry, but your spelling and grammar is so bad I can't understand what your question is.
I don't understand what happened.
You were stopped by someone you thought was a plain clothed security man. He only rented a space from the shop? what does that mean? And the real security watched him do this? Do what exactly, rent a space? You called for the manager to give you your money for what? And take what shopping back? You demanded an apology for what?
I do not understand.
If you are mad just because that guy walked up to you and asked you questions, there is no law against talking to someone. Even if he wasn't a security guard.
It depends what you want from them. If your on a low income you may get legal aid, but I dont think this sort of thing is actually covered by legal aid. There has been no actual loss, or damage, so any money claim would have to be for distress, embarassment etc. You would have to pay a solicitor to do this, and you probably wouldnt win enough to even cover his costs.
Your best bet is to get a free intial interview with a solicitor and ask him what if anything you could do, and then do it yourself. Or if you dont feel confident get a friend who can use big words to write letters etc for you.
was their actions wrong, maybe , do you have legal recourse? might be a stretch without having more facts and not sure without monies will you be able to get a lawyer to take the case
Go see a solicitor & see if you can sue for hurt feelings and stress on a no win no fee basis.
Surely if it is a large company then they have CCTV, something you might want to consider.
Go to the citizens Advice or the law centre. Write to them yourself if you have the managers name, ask which security firm they use. Get a letter from your doctor and send a copy with the letter to the head office of the company, also go to your MP or in America your Senator or what ever he is. Get him to write a letter to the head office or just do something embarrasing yourself stand outside this store, with a clip board get people to sign if they have been embarrased and harrassed like you were. The store won't like it but you have rights to and they may do something then?
