Does anyone else get loads of calls from INDIAN call centres trying to flog them stuff?
They give me the right HUMP! I'm on the list to NOT receive cold calls and this is inneffective against forgeign call centres
They ARE UK COMPANIES so they should be fined by OFFCOM!

The trick is to get them to REALLY not want to call you.
Here's a few tips:
1) When they tell you that they are called Trevor, or John, etc. tell them "Okay, then, I'm Karim Patel. This stuffs them up no end, because there is no Karim Patel on their list and they haven't the imagination/ language skills to deal with it. You have to be patient enough to go through the whole rigmerole of talking to their supervisor etc. If you can keep from laughing, it's great fun to do a Kumars style Indian accent, too.
2) Ask them if they are from that company selling the sick animal porn. When they make assurances that they are not, tell them, "Well f@ck off then, I'm waiting for the porn people to call!"
3) Scream/laugh hysterically for as long as you can or until they hang up.
4) Be abusive. VERY abusive.
5) When they ask to speak to you, say "hang on, I'll get him for you. Leave the phone and go about your business until they hang up.
6) Answer in the style of a raincoat perv... "Are your knickers dirty?" etc.
7) Have one off the wrist at them.
8) Put porn on and turn up the volume. Although this one might encourage more calls from young men...
9) Feign tourettes/ deafness/ amnesia/ dementia/ speech impedement or any combination of these you fancy.
10) Sing. Loudly and badly. Particularly if you like punk.
Trust me - they blacklist you.
lol.yeah it drives me nuts!They phone me, my mum, my bf's mum.and it always seems to be the same bloke! lol.can't they jus get the fvckin point!? x

you can say to them that you are part of the telephone pref service, they are usually very apologetic if you say this. and make sure you are not in the phone book
Yep, and I just say that I'm a prosecution solicitor for the British Armed Forces and they soon hang up.

If they are british companies, even though they have outsourced their call centre they should still adhere to the TPS
yep and i cannot understand a word they say.. but they understand me when i hang up
whenever i pick the phone up i always wait till the person talks first.

I agree but everyone is saying they are on the TPS list - unfortunately this only slightly cuts down on the amount of calls. Read the letter you all got from the TPS service: 3rd paragraph it says, Take details of the company that called you, if the same company call more than 3 time you will then have to raise an action against that company through the small claims court and you have to pay it, who is going to do that. As a tele-canvasser it is better is you tell them that you have a new one of those and then your name will be taken of the list.
Yeah i got one from india and when i said no they said that my family will die by there hands i just laughed but then twi days later they called again so i wound them up i said hows the weather in leeds today, they said it was bright and sunny and warm shame really it was when the tornado hit us i was near by at the time!
next time i'm gonna ask for directions to ther call centre see where they send me!

indian, phillipines, you name it mate. If i want to discuss my bank details, i'll do it face to face. if i want windows or any other consumable, i will ring round ta. My OH usually asks where they are calling from and if they say out of UK, he tells them they are doing and english person out of a job and hangs up.
I have TPS too but they still get thru. If they are UK companies, they should be ashamed of themselves.
