Legal advice help!! emergency?
I got ripped by one of the merchant processing company, called MPI, by making me signed up a non-cancellable credit card machine lease, which I have to pay 150$ a month for 48 months. The sale rep named Caron Bracy, the contract i signed is totally different from what he is telling me.
HELP, is there anyway I could get out of the lease, or any of the legal advice office i should go for help?? THANKYOU
Answers:
You should have a copy of the lease. Who says Caron is telling the truth -- they may not understand or may be strait out lying.
Go back to the lease and see what your options are.
No. you should not have signed the contract without reading it. There is probably a clause that will let you out.. with a penalty.
generally the written contract is the only document you should rely regarding the terms and conditions of the agreement. Ask Caron Bracy to point out exactly where you had agreed to anything else other than contained in the written agreement.
well check with your lawyer no one can answer you here because that depends on what country you live in and the exact text of the contract you signed
Regardless of what someone TOLD you on the phone or even in person, the legally binding part is what you signed, and if you signed it without reading it and now you don't like the terms, that's your own fault.
You could try to contact that sales rep again and asking why the contract is different from what he told you -- who knows, maybe it was a mistake or you signed the wrong contract. In that case, of course make sure all copies of the wrong one are shredded and aren't used. But it seems to me like you're stuck with what you signed.
Lesson for the day, kids: DON'T SIGN WHAT YOU HAVEN'T READ!
