Can you break contract with a garbage company if, you sign up for a 2 yard dumpster, and you have had a 1 1/2
My fiance and i bought a house in Feb 2003. We decided to keep the same company the previous owner had. I called to cancel yesterday. Talked to a very nasty customer service rep who laughed at me when I told him I wanted the dumpster picked up, and to cancel service. Today I was told the dumpster looked like a 1 1/2 yard not 2. I called the 800 number on the dumpster, with the modle, it is a 1 1/2 yard. yet my contract that they sent me and bill says 2 yard. Can I use this as cause to break the contract?

Tell them to go to the previous owner for their money.
Unless it was part of the sales agreement their contract is not with you.
can't break the contract, but call them up again and explain what you found out about the model, and that the people who come pick up the dumpster should check it out.
There should be no issue with picking it up and just pay for the dumpster rental. If you still get a hassle try talking to someone else instead of the customer service rep.
If they have not complied with their end of the contract you do not have to comply with yours. Also you should tell them that since you were paying for a 2 yard dumpster and only were given a 1 1/2 one that you would like a monetary refund for the difference.
