Under what circumstance can you be declared to be medically a child?
Answers:
You can be declared to have the mental capacity of a child (mentally incapacitated). If you are of sound mind with average or above intelligence - you cannot be declared a child medically for insurance or benefit purposes.
what?
Uh...what?
when you ask questions like this one I believe
if you go into hospital you go into a childrens ward up untill 14 years of age after that you would go into an adult ward is this what you mean?
when your age is that of a child.
Do you mean physically or mentally? IE you might be considered to have the mental age of a child even though you are a middle-aged man.
Sorry but there is not enough detail for the reason of this question, are there mental issues for this question? Please give more detail if u want it answered!!!!!
This not based on fact but logically a child would be - for "medical purposes" considered a child until the onset of puberty.
Medically or mentally? You have to be more specific about the details.
Children entering the UK as unaccompanied minors are assessed by Social Services to decide whether they are in fact under 18. They use various tests, including verbal reasoning and x-rays of teeth to help them decide.
It is a difficult area, as if one has an adult body but a child's mind it is possible to be prosecuted in an adult court and I have seen a man with a mental age of 4 standing in the dock and looking terrified, having hit his care worker during a tantrum. Clearly such a person lacks the mental capacity to answer charges and the matter is dealt with out of court. Normally when it is necessary to determine the age of a child whose date of birth is unknown it is a matter of measuring bones and the decision of the medical practitioner will be accepted by the court.
