How can i look up california penal codes for a background check?

Here is a link for you that takes you to California's 29 Code Laws. Just check the box for Penal codes and hit the search button. (I have found it is easier to leave the search box blank because the results are more confusing that way)
You will the be taken to a long list of all the Penal Codes and a link for each one that you can click on to read about them.

I don 't know about California,but in Pennsylvania,you can get a copy of the state penal code for $ 169.00.
