Guardianship - without a lawyer...?

I will make this short and simple.

I hate having a lawyer because I have to pay her so much for all the work she does. She is a legitimate bloodsucker. I think there is a way for me to get the guardianship over my husband much easier than having her know what's going on in my life.

Yes, my husband is fully incapacitated. I have been using a lawyer for the past decade to get a guardianship, but paying this leech is taking its toll on me. How am I, as a homemaker, supposed to get a guardianship over my husband - on my own - without having to hire this stupid bi*** (excuse my language)?

Answers:
You can go to the courthouse and file for legal guardianship yourself through the clerk's office. The judge will appoint a lawyer for your husband to determine if he needs one.. You do not have to have a lawyer, but it will help. Get a new lawyer. It should not take but a few weeks , not 10 years to get guardianship. Sounds like she needs to be replaced.

You can learn to file the necessary legal paperwork yourself -- or hire someone to teach you how to do it yourself -- or hire someone (an attorney) who can do it for you.
If you are in Canada you can download the forms from the Queen's Printer online or phone them and they will mail them. If you are in the US, I don't know.
