I got a ticket for speeding and I don't want points on my license?
Can I take a driving class to get rid of these points
Answers:
ask someone to take your points for you.
Probably, depending on the state you live in and your age. If you're under 18... you may get points and a driving class both whether you like it or not.
If you're over 18, it depends on how fast you were going. I was doing 90 in a 65, and got pulled over... the cop clocked me as I was braking, so I got 80 in a 65. For 15mph over the speed limit, I paid $120, no points on my license, and it didn't affect my car insurance either.
Also, if you got pulled over in a state you don't have your license in (lets say you have a Florida license, and get pulled over in Tennessee) no points will go on your license.
Hope this is helpful and sorry to hear the po-po got ya.
I don't know if it works in your state, but Minnesota has a loop hole where if you overpay your ticket by a few dollars they will send you a check for the overpaid amount. The ticket then goes into a special holding area and isn't processed until you cash the check. If you shred the check after a few years the ticket gets thrown away without ever being processed. Try it, it can't hurt.
Another thing we have here is a "continuance for dismissal". If you haven't had a ticket within a year the county will probably grant you one. You will have to pay the full amount of the fine, but it won't go on your record as long as you don't get another one within a year. If you do, both will go on your record.
The best thing you can do is go in on your posted court date and talk to the prosecutor and ask them what they have to offer. They should have plenty of options.
Yes you can in most states..Unless its several..continuous pattern..
