Are attorneys who advertise themselves on commercials reliable?

Answers:
You can't base television advertising with reliability. The fact that they're advertising on television more than likely means that they are able to take on more clients than they currently have.

In addition, when they advertise like that, you have to keep in mind that they've just opened themselves up to everyone, including those who are in charge of mandating their ethics. So, if you have a problem with an attorney who advertises, it's more likely than not that the person you're going to talk to has seen that commercial, they're going to know who they are and where to find them. One might think that they're more reliable. But, again, you can't base reliability on advertising. If we did that, everyone would buy the "Magic Bullet" (TM) and the "Food Saver 9000" (TM again).

Sometimes yes, sometimes no -- just like any other business.

You can always check the state bar where they are licensed to determine if they have had any ethical violations or complaints.
