Why is it that the sentence for abusing animals...?
... is often more than what pedophiles get for molesting kids? Does this seem right to you, or are those poor animals more important?

Because PETA is a noisier about animal abuse than we are about child abuse.
Also because we have not demanded that judges who give such mild sentences for child offenders be removed from the bench. THAT is EXACTLY what must be done. When it happens in your area, the community MUST unite to remove these passive judges.
While animals are important (e,g, Michael Vick should be in jail) children are more important. Anyone that hurts a child is not only a criminal, they are EVIL! They can not be "cured."
Where did you here that. I know that rapists get like 15 years to life in Massachusetts i think
the animal abuse can be like 6 months to 5 years or 7 years.
and it's right animals are like kids thay are smaller and can't defend themselves and we as humans should protect them not hurt them
