Can having too many freedoms be a bad thing?

Answers:
I have to agree with the gentleman above this comment. Anarchy like Communism looks really good on paper but in actuality you come accross some serious problems. In the words of a cop I once knew "You have freedoms until you no longer have the right to them, and when enough people do enough damage that they no longer have the rights to those freedoms then everyone has to pay the price." It's sort of like stealing from a store, You get it for free but if enough people do it, then the store has to raise the price to subsidise

That isn't to say that freedoms should be stripped from us because of fear. Or that we should live under tyranical rule. It's just stating that much like parenting, we started out in this country with many freedoms, and then so many people expressed that as a society would could not handle those freedoms responsibly they had to be restricted. Laws that have governed us have literally been made to keep us in one form or another from killing eachother.

For example? What freedom do you imagine should be taken away? And by whom?

We are all free. Freedom can only be taken away, not "given".
Are you speaking of anarchy? If so, then yes! Would you have the freedom to maim, rape, kill, steal and whatever else you wanted without laws and restrictions?
But to answer your question, I waver at times myself. These horrid westborough folks for example. Their actions seem crimminal yet do we allow them to continue so that the rest of us may have freedom of speech? Or papparazzi? Their actions qualify under most stalking laws but since there is freedom of the press and they are public figures all rights go to them.

So to answer your question. I am glad it is not I who has to decide such things.
No. Being irresponsible in exercising freedom can be a bad thing.
