How long does an employer have to pay a currently working employee in MI?

I just got a promotion at my current part-time job in Michigan, but I have yet to be paid for any of the hours that I have worked. It has been 2 pay periods and I am owed for a large portion of hours. Is there some type of law that states an employer must pay an employee by a certain date? If so, how long is that period and what is the penalty for failing to pay the employee?

Answers:
You can't prove anything unless you have time clock receipts. ALWAYS save them, you never know when something like this will come up.
