Can you sue if drunk driver gets in accident?

ok, heres the situation. 3 friends... all underage and drunk. driver gets in a wreck... the two passengers can sue for injuries/hospital bills etc. etc. correct? the only hang up is, they left the scene before speaking with police, but not before making sure ambulance came for driver and another car involved

Answers:
I suppose the right lawyer could sue somebody involved. But who's fault was it really that the kids were drinking?

More likely the kids could get sued for contributing in some way to the situation.

Why did they leave the scene? Did they buy the alcohol?

The other 2 are guilty of a crime as well. Are you willing to fess up that you left the scene of an accident, were under age and intoxicated? Then want to sue? What is wrong with this country?
Underage drunks wanting to sue who?
You are kidding aren't you. Better thank your lucky stars you are alive and learned a lesson. Might even be charged with leaving the scene.
Now the parents might want to find out who served their kids alcohol.someone could be liable there.
And hopefully the parents will be putting the fear of God in those irrepsonsible children.
And I take it your one of the deserters, and now you want to fess up so you can sue your friend?? Undoubtedly you were drunk and you didn't want the police to know . hee hee well, they either will know now or your up a creek.
You (I'm guessing you're one of the friends) pretty much barred yourself from recovery from their injuries by leaving the scene, which is also a felony. Go ahead and talk to an attorney, tell him you were uinderage, drunk and then left the scene of accident, no lawyer is going to represent you.
