No. However if you live outside of the US and own rental property in the US, you must provide your mortgage lender with documentation showing that you have a property manager to take care of the property in case a water pipe breaks or something, there is someone that can be contacted immediately for repairs. I have accepted letters from friends and or relatives that live in the vicinity of the investment property as well in lieu of an actual property management company.
