Why is law and ethics in the same catergory?

lets face it,lawers aren't exactly ethical are they?

Answers:
There is a difference between law and lawyers interpretation of the law, and only one of them is ethical, can you guess which one?

Shouldn't laws be based on, or influenced by ethics? I think so.
Its meant to be that our ethics guide our laws, but that simply isn't the case anymore.
