Are Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton just opportunists that come out to gain publicity?
I am a young black male, and I believe they come out when it suits them best. What are your views.(please no racist answers, don't show your ignorance)
Answers:
They're activists. That's what activists do. They use their name to draw attention to important causes. I don't see how it would be considered opportunistic when they don't financially benefit from these appearances.
It's definitely not the same as Rudy Giuliani charging $100,000 to speak at a Tsunami victims benefit. That's opportunistic.
I think you're right!
Yes, i think that you are right. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton come out only to jump into publicity. I believe that people can stand up for themselves, and they butt in when they are not needed or wanted.
Simple answer = yes. And the both of them are huge racists. To them, everything is about the color of a persons skin.
Yes they are, and yes they do.
I would say the majority of whites, racist and non-racists alike, see them that way. While I realize that racism still exists, their ability to turn every white on black incident into a national crisis while ignoring the problems the black community brings on itself is amazing. Congrats on seeing through their BS.
YES.any time a person of color does somthing and the news pick up on it the next thing you see is the team of Jesse&Al. on Tv.
Any thinking person of whatever race can see right through them. Do they get up, get on TV and speak about issues all of the time? No. Only when it suits them.
Recent case in point. When the Vick thing got started. Before anybody knew details and such the good Rev. Sharpton started talking about how it was all discrimination. Not that he broke the law, not preaching that this is not the path but just basically "he is being persecuted".
I think Jesse and Sharpton do more harm than help.
