Do blacks believe that Vick should not be convicted even if he did those things the Feds say that he did?
it appears from listening to Clinton Portis, Emmitt Smith, among others that black people just don't want guys like Vick either prosecuted or convicted regardless of whether or not they violated any statutes; is this true?

I don't care if Vick is black, white or purple. He's an idiot and should be punished for his cruelty. Of course there will be people out there that cry racism as they do with almost anything. The only reason this person or that is being arrested is because of his color not because they committed a crime. These are the same people that do not take responsibility for their own actions and need to fall back on excuses.
HOWEVER, I believe that the above mentioned people are much lower in numbness than the intelligent people out there who believe that people should take responsibility for their own actions. They will see it for what it is. A crime and no matter the person's color they should pay the price.
To me, in any race, there are good and bad people, people who are lazy, stupid and just plain ignorant. You cannot argue that fact.
Unfortunately, the historical legacy of our country includes abuses of the legal system that were caused by racism. This has led to many people being suspicious of the system. The presumption of innocence unless convicted at trial should be afforded to MV also.
Who cares if he's black or not he committed a crime so prosecute him.

THE PROBLEM IS THAT HE HAS BEEN TRIED IN THE MEDIA AND ALL THEY ARE DOING IS GIVING HIM NEGATIVE PUBLICITY. IF IT TURNS OUT THAT HE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS THEN WHAT WILL YOU PEOPLE SAY? LET THE SYSTEM TAKE ITS COURSE AND AT THE END OF IT ALL WE WILL KNOW WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. NOT GET ARRESTED AND YOUR GUILTY BECAUSE THE MEDIA SAYS SO. THATS IS NOT HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO WORK.
The issue really has nothing to do with whether African Americans support Vick. I'm African American and an avid football fan. Until this happened, I was a Michael Vick fan and still am. But as a Godly person who stands for what is right, I deplore what Michael Vick (and his friends) did. The irony of it though is the majority of those who are denouncing Vick and calling for his ouster from the NFL are meat eaters. What's the difference between what Vick did (dog fighting) and what you do (eating meat) when you stock pile your refrig with meat? There is no difference. Killing harmless animals as food is really no different than Vick's dog fighting antics. What hypocrites you meat eaters are!!
