Why do people really hate the United States?
Well, I'm going to answer that, partially, at least. Aside from the pompous self-righteous attitude of your common everyday American, there is the biggest issue. Call it hypocrisy, call it BS, call it whatever you want. It's there.
The United States is the self-titled Humanitarian Nation of the World, spreading freedom, liberty, and justice...Except when it's not.
If you want to look further back, there is, of course, the Native Americans. A little beyond that is the Philippines, and the aftermath of the Spanish-American War.
Or how the United States completely ignores anything the U.N has to stay. Once the United States became the superpower to beat, it became obvious the true intention behind this government. There was a 1972 treaty banning the use of biological weapons and germ warfare. To enforce this law, the U.N made an agreement to allow the search of ALL nations, but of course, the U.S refused to allow any such searches of their arsenals. -Out of space, can't type

As an American myself, I must say that I agree with you wholeheartedly. I am just not sure where to move to get away from this satan-ridden country.
Americans don't even treat each other right, let lone how they handle interaction with other countries.

They are run by a bunch of international criminals and the American people are too weak, too stupid or too compliant to do anything about it.
I think its because they try and dictate to other countries, like they told the Iraqi government to sack their first-ever democraticly elected PM because the US wanted to deal with someone else.
don't get me wrong. I think most people in the united states are wonderful.they also contributed to some marvellous stuff . it's just that their goverment is all messed up and their policy sucks. Some people are blinded by the media and blindly programmed to follow all the things the goverment asked them to do. since they are the biggest & dominant country in the world, their interest comes first and others comes second. just remember every great empires will crumble eventually. if the people won't change it one day it will shatter like a piece of glass.
I don't dislike America, or Americans - it's a fantastic country with some great people. What I hate is its policies, hypocracy & it's 'we're better than anyone else' attitude. Rubbish.

Also America being a greedy capitalist culture and the way they see it as being the "best" culture and wish to force it on everyone else is particulalry objectionable.
They cannot seem to allow others to live in a different way to themselves and not share their values! They seem to see themselves as a "World Police" trying to make everyone like them.
As for "freedom" - they are not "free" they are slaves to the Capitalist system and the greedy businesses. I'd sooner have my basic human rights like Socialised healthcare thanks.

Weakness and ignorance
1. Strong market economy vs. the planned centralized, often corrupt economies in developing countries.
2. Stable electoral system, with a 2 party system that permits change without revolution or bloodshed.
3. Free speech, free press.
4. Freedom of religion--this one does it for us in places like Iran and Pakistan where freedom of religion means that the denial of their religion as the only permissible religion makes us the great satan.
5. Hollywood produces movies that entertain the world. Who besides the English watch English movies? etc.
6. We are militarily stronger than any other country on earth. That tears it for many other countries, especially those that were the strongest militarily at some point in history.
7. We have this naive belief that we can teach our system to the world, fools that we are.
8. We need to secure our borders to keep people out, not to keep our own citizens in.
9. Rock & Roll and Hip Hop.
10. We like baseball and don't watch, know about or care about soccer.
the love-hate-relationship to the USA is based on...

the people there are really nice, caring, friendly - as single persons. unluckily, they are also not at all interested in the world outside their little 'paradise'. ever watched TV news in, let's say, New York?
nothing or little about Europe, Asia or Africa; but loads of regional news.

take a look at the an-alphabetics' rate, at the number of unskilled workers, or the number of unemployed people.

I have a few American friends.Real sweet down to earth people.However, there are some American ideas that find themselves heading across the pond to us in the UK that I don't like.There was an article in The Times last Sunday that basically said it all for me.It showed the average American family.Kids sat around the parents, grinning for the cameras, with guns cradled in their arms as if it was the family pet.The gun culture has found itself in the inner cities in the UK, and lots of kids in gangs have been killed as a result.Have to agree with the points you made in your question too.
