I was caught shoplifting worth $200, I am extremely ashamed and sorry for my act.?
I am an adult and I want honest advise. I have been advised to appear in the court. What would be the punishment and will it stay on y record? I am living in Canada. This is my first and last offense ever.
Answers:
minimal sentence. it can be arranged not to show on your record in the future if you don't mess up again.
for gods sake, get a lawyer and follow his instructions.
Well it would be concidered larcany so you're looking at probation or a sentace of no less than six months in jail
off with your head!!
The punishment will be pretty much what the judge says it will be. Sorry. You may get off with probation, or you may have to check into the gray bar hotel for a few weeks. Probably not though if this is your first offense.
As for this staying on your record, as an adult, unfortunately for you it will follow you for the rest of your days unless you can get it expunged later.
You have been adivsed correctly to appear in court though. Your attorney will be your best source of information for what to expect, what to say and do, etc.
I don't believe you i highly doubt you are sorry and ashamed. You are just sorry you got caught! I would suggest doing as much community service as you can untill this whole thing is behind you! Because you own the community because i highly doubt that that was your first time shoplifting!
not off with your head but jail at least.
you really should be ashamed of yourself.
