Those assholes at the irs?

Did you see the story about the guy who caught 756, the irs declared it income so now he has to pay them 250 grand whether he sells it or not. Some one needs to beat their asses

Answers:
You got a link? As far as I'm aware the IRS has not declared it income. The last thing I read stated that the IRS has refused to comment on it.

There is a question as to rather or not it could be considered income (even if he doesn’t sell it, because of the value), but the answer to that differs, depending on which tax expert you ask.

EDITED TO ADD THIS:

Okay, I see the link now. And it does *not* say that the IRS declared it income. It says the IRS “declined to comment”. It said that some tax expert stated it would be income, and that not everyone concurs with that tax expert’s interpretation.

It appears it’s a moot point anyway, because apparently this guys intends to sell the ball, so then he’ll definitely owe taxes.

I think its a real BS!
i agree with you its stupid as hell
caught 756?

Edit:

Hahaha, that is absolutely crazy. The baseball is priceless. I would immediately destroy the baseball if I was told I had to pay 250k for catching it.

Do you have a link to an article about this?
I think he should take a baseball bat to the people at IRS
