Lets hope not. I know you can't in Canada. Once the cops lay charges, its out of the battered spouse's hands, and that's a really good thing, since most batterers bully the spouse to drop charges
yes thye can unless you are in a different country it all depends on where you live
they can drop the the charges but the record will be documented.In some cases the state picks the charges up at least that's what happened in my case and i was happy they did he was going to kill me. God Blessed him in jail.
