If it is the Department of Corrections then they are not criminals, they are just incorrect?

And the ones that are lifers are incorrectable?
And the ones released are corrected?

Answers:
Not everybody that commits a crime is a bad person. Committing a behavior is incorrect. The punishment is supposed to correct the behavior.

When they are released they are supposed to be corrected. This is the rehabilitaion asspect but we know that's not always the case.

But now child predators and serial killers are uncurable and need to saty there away from society. I think they should be shot in the face though.

U a funny guy.

It is referred to as "corrections" as the system is trying to get you to "correct" your criminal mistakes and not commit any new ones upon release
I can only imagine what kind of wordplay you would do with "penal institution".

But actually, they should probably stop bothering to call them "correctional" facilities. The vast majority of inmates either refuse to believe they've ever done anything wrong, or just don't care so how can you say they're being "corrected"?
No one is corrected. There are those given the benefit of the doubt by the parole board and those who have served their time. No one is corrected.

Just don't get caught is what I was always told.
