Anti Child abuse law plan aimed at aborigines?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070807/ap_o...
What do you think of this? Is it fair/right?
is it in fact a racist law that means to annihilate their culture.
I found it interesting that Oxfam said it would not solve child abuse and would only cause trouble between blacks and whites.
As though the problem of child abuse did not matter. It is much more important to ensure the status quo? Just interested in different interpretations
Answers:
The government shouldn't look like they are targeting a pacific set of people. If they say they are clamping down on child abuse it should be across Australia then if they want to target a certain group of people they can say it is part of their champagne. The main thing causing problems between Aborigines and white Australians is the way that Aborigines are treated different. Why are payments for Ab study higher than Aus study this creates racism from young Australians being treated differently because of their heritage. Pauline Hanson once said that all Australians should be treated equal not some more equal than others. She was branded a racist for it. I saw the interview, it wasn't at all racist. Sorry got a bit sidetracked there. Child abuse should not be tolerated in any form and if it is suspected to be happening within an Aboriginal community then this group of Australians should be pleased that their children are being protected from these preditors.
