Can i change my name legaly when am 16?
ok am almost 16 and i was jsut wondering if i could change my name with out my mam and dads permission i mean id have my mams permision just not my dads.
i live in england.
theres nothing wrong with my name just am not a big fan of my dad or his family so i want to change my surname to include my mams maiden name and also i want to honour my family with some extra ,iddle names...

You can be known by any name you wish, but it can't be done legally until you are 18. If your mother remarried she may wish you to change your name to her new one, but that can only be done with your fathers permission before you become of age
I hope your spelling improves before the date that you are asked to write your new surname down at the solicitors.
Your local Magistrates court can provide you with a statutory declaration for £7.50 which is a legal document changing your name. They may ask you for parental consent (16 - 17 year olds)either in writing or verbally
Since you live in England, what you need is a deed poll. You can write one yourself, really. Heck, I could write it for you. To get a nice, official-looking one, visit a website like http://www.ukdps.co.uk/. You don't need a parent's consent if you are 16 or older.
