What would be your prediction for my punishment?
i live in maryland and i am a 14 year old boy i prank called the secretary of my school office at her home. i called her son gay and said that shes a bitc**h, and i lied that i was child services and that i was gonna take her son away from her family for abuse. i made about 8 to 12 calls in about 4 months. i got caught and i have to go to a meeting at juvenile services and they can choose from 3 choices.
1. give me a warning and it would end there
2. put me on probation for a max of 90 days or if they want to do more than 90 days i would have to go to court
3. put me into a juvenile delinquent center for a max of 90 days or if they want to do more than 90 days i wouold have to go to court.
i have never been arrested for anything. i get A's and B's on my report card. i never said anything threatening to the woman.
Answers:
1) You used foul and insulting language
2) You pretended to be someone that you were not and made threatening statement, by stating you were going to take her child away from her. (You don't have to make a physical threat to make a threat)
3) The severity of your actions (not like sending 50 pizzas to her house or siccing insurance salesmen on her) requires that, at the least, option 2 is selected.
4) There is no guarantee that giving you option 1 will corral this behavior. You could easily feel that you beat the system and, learning from you mistakes that got you caught, do it all again.
i did the same thing when i was your age and they threw the fukcing book at me. i got 6 months in a deliquency center and another six months of probation. it was the worst year of my life, good luck kid-o!
They're going to require you to get a complete psychological evaluation before they decide.
By what you said in your question, you did threaten her. If you were an adult you would be facing very serious punishment.
Most likely, you will merely get the warning, and you should be happy that you live where you live. Out where I practice, you would probably have to do some community service as well as write an apology letter to the secretary. You should have to be on probation for more than the ninety days proposed.
You did threaten her, you said her kid would be removed from her.
You also did this over the long term (4 months) so I think you will get put into the detention center and to be honest I think you deserve it. If it was a once off or you did it over the course of say 2 or 3 days then a warning might be fair but you did this for 4 months, you made this woman's life hell for what? a few laughs?
What did this woman do to deserve this abuse? There is no excuse it tormenting somebody at home for something they may have done at work. You need to grow up and stop acting stupid.
If you do get sent to the delinquent center make sure you use it to turn your life around. Don't get stupid and hold a grudge or you will find yourself behind bars for the rest of your life.
I would suggest that you dress smartly for your appointment. Make sure you are apologetic and do not make any excuses, do not try and justify anything you did. Admit you were wrong and you may get away with a warning and be grateful if you do. Make sure you write a letter of apology to the lady you tomented (after making sure with the people at the juve services say that is okay) and do make sure you are polite to this lady if you happen to see her at school later.
We`re not talking about a "prank" call here young man. A prank call is one (maybe two) calls. You made 8 to 12 calls, and during that time you called her a "Bit*h", which is a defamation of charactor; you claimed to be a representative from child services, which is impersonation; and you threatened to take her son away from her, which is "inflicting mental anguish" upon another person. These are all very serious charges. My guess is that her lawyer will will keep remanding this case till you`re sixteen, and then you`ll be tried in an adult court. From there you`ll most likely be going to the "Big House" with all the "BIG" guys, who`s just waiting for a "cute" little sixteen year old to play with.
Thank your diety every day that you dont live in Singapore where the end of your road would end with being caned, and IMO you desperately deserve it. Actually, about 8-12 caning sessions over 4 months would be better. That way your backside would resemble the secretary's emotions. And Im willing to bet that after having your backside turned to hamburger you would never violate another law again. Noooo, instead your getting time out (juvie) to think about how to get away with harassing the secretary, or someone else.
You will likely be imprisoned for life for the crime of being a moron.
