How can they legally charge 4$ for water for a all day concert when it's 100 degrees out?

I mean being a libertarian most of the times I disagree with laws like that but come on at warped tour in Bonner Springs they were raping people for a necessity

Answers:
Capitalism. You either love it or hate it. Me, I love it. I don't think they are breaking any laws either.

They were actually raping people in exchange for water? What kind of tomfoolery goes on at those concerts?
Yes, It's America, and you are thirsty.
Oh yes damn America for allowing people to make money. You should know by now, that if you are going to a concert, you are going to spend money. If you can't afford it, don't go. Besides I bet they had a water fountain around.
Why wouldn't they be able to charge $4 a bottle? Yeah, it is expensive, but its just basic economics. Think before you ask questions
It's not rape when you pay to get in.

Aw diddums someone's imaginary political life meet up with big bad reality?
You must have been up north $3.50 was taxes...
I agree with you. It's sickening that people have the attitude of "making money" and why there's such a huge gap building between upper and lower classes. They was probably charging $10.00 for a glass of beer too. And what's great is all these people saying to you "think a little" are probably turning around and complaining about there heatlh care bills because they are doing exactly the same thing, ripping people off.
that's how they pay for the venue where the event is held. water was 3 bucks and Gatorade was 4 at our warped tour in Jacksonville. warped tour event promoters pay out the ying yang for venues because of the crowd that follows warped. destructive punk kids dressed in drag and promoting loony religions and anti bush crap. no one wants to rent a venue to an even that attracts broke butt kids. think about it, lets say some musician comes to town that attracts upper middle class adults, you fill in the artists name, lets say they hold the show in the nice part of town. people going to the event are going to get lunch dinner before and after the show probably on the same property if food places exist. they will shop in the area maybe before the show and will most definitely purchase drinks and band merch. see what I'm getting at here? these punk teens have barely enough cash to get in, they just don't spend money in the area, so they make up for that in other ways( crappy locations and high prices). if people like us want to enjoy the music, we are going to have to suck it up and deal with the high water prices and guys in skirts.

on a lighter note, i was pleased with the bands. way too hot for sure.
If you don't like the costs of a concert, then don't go to the concert. Going to concerts is not a necessity.
Simple answer: Because they can.
