If prosecuted and subsequently found guilty of falsification or perjury, this crime is punishable by being reprimanded to and then serving up to ten years in a State Federal Prison, with no chance for parole.

When you sign or give your affirmation to an agreement, such as Yahoo! that you are a certain age - it's not as if you will be prosecuted - but by the same token, it absolves Yahoo! of any liability you may suffer because of your age.
You know if you are not putting your real age for a reason - no matter what it is on or about - it isn't illegal unless it's done to obtain a false identification. If it is on a dating site, it's not illegal but it is WRONG.
