Should I even bother paying for a lost textbook if I don't even go to a school anymore?

I got my GED and those bassstards say I owe 48 bucks, should I just ignore it or will they file criminal charges?

Answers:
Yes you should pay for the textbook.

You owe a legitimate debt - be responsible and settle it.

I but if somebody owes you money you would be screaming for it back!

You got what you wanted, why are you so unwilling to pay for the instrument that got you there?

Let your conscience be your guide as I would never give you a rationalization of why you should not pay what you owe!

I doubt if they file criminal charges! They are usually putting it on your credit report these days! Seven years of bad luck!
they wont file charges but if you ever want to go to college or join the military they wont transfer your grades. at least thats how it is in washington
Your credit rating will reflect this stubbornness for the rest of your life. cantcu says seven years, but my 65 yr old husband was questioned by a credit bureau recently about something that happened when he was 20. It's not worth it. You lost it, so take the responsibility for your carelessness and pay for it.
If you didn't give the book back, yes.
they will fine you in one way or another cause thats school property.
