Is Illinois Going Bankrupt?
I hear they have a week or so until it goes down? What happens from there? Do Feds just fork over money?
Answers:
We've been bankrupt for years! What will happen is that if the Idiot (the governor) gets his way, all Illinois businesses that can't afford to pay for their employees health care will be taxed 3% for universal health care for all Illinoisans. Therefore, small business will disappear and state will really be screwed!
To answer your question though, if no emergency spending bill is passed by Aug. 1, the state shuts down. All state employees will be sent home with no pay. All services, except for maybe the state police but I'm not 100% sure about that, will be shut down. You won't be able to gey your drivers license renewed, travellers won't have interstate rest stops, roads won't get worked on, etc. The won't intervene, this is purely a state screwup.
But this is what happens when 3 democrats have control of the budget!
