Can creditors take money out of my bank?

If they can then I do I stop/prevent them from doing it?
I live in Maryland by the way.

Answers:
creditors with a court order can take all the money out of your bank account that they have judgment for, if you don't have enough the first time they do it they will keep draining your account until they get all their money, and all your checks you have writing will bounce and come back to your bank and the stores you wrote them to may take you to court for judgment, the same court that gave your first creditors the right to take all your money in the first place, missed up, right!

nope
If they have a judgment or if you have written a bad check.
ONLY if you give them permission. If they do without your permission you can contact the bank and have them put a stop on this. Good luck. =)
Creditors can put a garnishment on your bank account if they know you have one and with which bank. After receiving the garnishment, the bank will place a hold on your account up to the amount of the garnishment and within a specified amount of time say "30" days the bank will debit your account and send the funds to the issuing court. If there is not enough money in your account to cover the garnishment, the bank will send the balance in your account. The bank should notify you upon their receipt of the garnishment. These are the laws in Georgia. You may want to check on this in your state.
