Does anyone else think silencers and auotomatic weapons should be more legalized to the public?
But still restricted from felons and people who are prohibited frome owning a firearms already

Supressors are not 'Ninja' weapons as Hollywood would have you believe. They really are not much of a threat to anyone, nor are automatic weapons because an individual trying on comit a crime with one is typicaly unsuccessful due to the training needed. Not to mention crimes involving firearms are committed by people who, under the current law, are not permitted to have them anyhow...alot of 'feel good' laws have done nothing to protect you. Two case studies:
Washington DC has outlawed firearms of almost ANY kind since the 70's..and has the HIGHEST murder rate involving handguns in the NATION. Criminals vs an unarmed populace.
One maniac with perfectly legal semi-auto pistols (But I don't know that he had a permit) ran rampant in V.Tech...and no one wonders if ONE of those instructors, or ONE of those students who had a conceled carry permit and were legaly allowed to possess firearms could have stopped it all if some 'feel good' rule that they were following had'nt made it impossible.
The Government fears an armed populace for a reason. Its how we started out in the first place, and their only defence is to make people so scared of a legal citizen to ban it all so they only have to worry about are the criminals they create.

No, you don't need a silencer to defend yourself. Silencers are only for people trying to kill in secrecy. And automatic weapons are really not defensive; in a home they are large, bulky and somewhat unwieldy. They are purely offensive weapons.

Why not? All, (noncriminal), Americans are Constitutionality entitled to carry guns.
I think all guns and accessories should be legal... Law abiding people are the only ones these days that have trouble getting arms.. The criminals don't have any problem getting guns and anything else they want to put on it.

Also why do you need a silencer ?.only contract killers need them.
PFO - sorry I have to say this...by your logic...nobody should be allowed to have a car capable of speeds over 70 mph in the United States. You can't legally drive over 70...so why do we allow it ? Because sports cars are cool and fun to drive.
I don't need to shoot 5 rounds per second.but it would be cool if I could. What if I ever need to protect myself against a foreign enemy invasion or a domestic enemy ??
BTW: anyone can buy a kit for approximately 25 dollars to convert their semi auto to fully auto. They are legal to buy, but not legal to install. Just like you can buy a bong, but you can't smoke marijuana.

Sure, why not? Criminals already have both in abundance, so what harm could it possibly do to sell them to people who WON'T abuse them? Prior to 1986, machine guns could be legally owned under terms of the 1934 National Firearms Act, which required considerable paperwork and a $200 transfer tax every time one changed hands. In over half a century of legalized machine gun ownership, there was not a single crime committed with a legal, registered machine gun! Not a single one! That says it all, I think. Bans are nothing but a boon to the criminal element, who don't have to worry about the good guys being similarly armed!

I say why not? There is probably nothing more fun than shooting a AR-15 except shooting a fully auto AR-15. Thank goodness we have a president that refused to keep the assault weapon ban going. Peole who are going to murder will do it with a silencer or no silencer.
Yes, I do. I think law abiding citizens should be allowed to purchase automatic weapons and silencers for there own protection. Criminals will get there guns, no matter what the law says. We should be able to defend ourselves. I realize that a silencer is not necessary for self defense, but yes, I would use one to defend my family from outside sources.
