My ex boss hacked into my personal website and email . On top if that he has sued me for defamation ?
All I did was put on my website "we were hacked by this IP which gets traced back to this company"
And he goes and sues me for defamation. Is that even right ?

I think you might not be telling the WHOLE story. Were you still an employee at the time this took place? If so, he had every right, as anything that happens on a company computer IS very much his business.
As for this "lawsuit", have you been SERVED with a lawsuit? or just threatened? I'd be curious to see what grounds he's suing on.

You're not telling us the whole story. Remember that if you do anything on an office computer, he has the right to see it. It's not hacking, it's monitoring company computer usage. So if you called it hacking, that might be defamation. But he will have a difficult time proceeding with the lawsuit.
