Have you ever been an activist? What issue would you feel strong enough about to put your body on the line for
I've never been to a protest, but the laws are changing right in front of our eyes and I feel nervous, like maybe I should get involved. Can anyone speak from experience?
Answers:
What Issue would you feel strongly enough about to put your body on the line for?
well, since you're asking ME, I'll answer.
I feel that strongly about pretty much any issue under the sun...
that is, any issue that would LEAD to Anarchy, or Socialism, or better yet, Anarcho-Communism.
anything contributing to these causes is worth dying for.
Number one, defeating the rising police state in the U.S.
yes... this is me, advertising my love of, and the need for Direct Anarchist action. the abolishment of the state, and the rise of a social order, leading to peace and prosperity for human kind, and categorically blocking power hungry individuals from impoverishing others for personal gain.
no person is better then any other, and none is worth more then his neighbor.
the only reason there isn't enough clothing, or electronics, or health care, or food for everyone is that the production of this food is limited to the amount needed for those who can PAY for it.
thus, MONEY is the root of all problems... excluding maybe love, and even then, it sure has an impact.
to tell the truth, if the people were to decide they had had enough, everyone could be elevated to a lifestyle equivalent to day's rich and famous.
it's something to think about.
and I think the question YOU need to ask, is not what other feel strongly enough about to risk their lives for, but what YOU feel strongly enough about risking your life for.
it's really, a very personal thing.

Man, compare your situation to those in other much nastier countires where people risk thier lives just to march. They literally get mowed down with machine guns! All you are risking is an overnight in jail and a fine, but if you don't stand up for what you want then you can kiss it goodbye.
You gotta exercise those rights or they will atrophy.
I've protested numerous of times. Mostly the war, the environment, and gay rights.
But you wanting to get involved is a very noble thing. People are starting to care less and less everyday, and their rights are being taken away because they don't care. And that's not right. We need people to stand up for what they believe in. We need people reminding our government that we don't work for them, they work for us.
soldiers lives are on the line. activists face a disorderly charge and a $100 fine.
I pu my life on the line for 2 years in Iraq, but i wouldnt call it activism. I called it service.
What you see happening and fear is the erosion of your potential to act. In the Universe, in the final analysis, your body is the potential to act. The issue worth risking the body for is to maintain the body from restraint or attack.
Discretion is the better part of Valor. Do not be defamed, imprisonned, enslaved, or killed except for the cause of Love or the cause of Freedom.
