Do I have a legal right as a father to find out the sex of my unborn child in the uk?
All I want to know do I have a legal right as a father to find out the sex of my unborn child in the uk, I don’t need to know about people opinions on whether or not I should wait to find out and it being the most natural surprise and I might let it slip out to my partner.

Most medical records are private, so I would say no. If you're not married there is no chance.
I Think It Rests With The Mother, Even If You Are Married Or Not As Medical Records Are Private. Also The Gender Of The Baby Is Not Usually Recorded (UK) Unless Specifically Enquired About. So Its A Difficult Situation If The Mother Is Not Wanting To Find Out!
Good Luck And Congratulations!!
I don't think this will be allowed you will just have to wait and no court will stand for something so trival they might even accuse you of being a bad father so i wouldn't go there.
if you attend the hospital appointments and scans then i see no reason why they counldn't tell you in secret but if you don't go with her i really don't see any way of you finding out due to patient doctor code
I would not cause trouble now as hormones etc will get you into trouble.
I have 3 kids and during the scans I have noticed that the nurse will look first ( and not say anything) to see incase you can not tell later, later when you ask they will look again I didn't realise straight away but a willy shows up white as the lad was number 2 and you could spot it a mile off if you keep quiet you may see it anyway without causing trouble.
Women are unpredictable enough normally but when pregnant they can be horrible I would not do anything to upset her now as you may find things get out of control later.
As far as I am aware no one, mother included, has the legal right to be informed of the sex of their unborn baby in the UK. In fact many hospitals do not tell you the sex, either in case they get it wrong, or in case the prospective parents don't like what they hear and decide to have a termination.
The plain and simple answer is NO. You have no control over the mother's body. Therefore, until the child is born, you have no rights whatsoever to any third-person's child.
Legally, until the child is born and a paternity test is completed, this is NOT your child. Hence, no legal rights.
No you don't have a legal right to this information. The only accurate test for the sex of an unborn baby involves the mother undergoing an intrusive procedure (amniocentesis) which legally you could not force her to do. Ultrasound tests which are how babies are commonly sexed are fairly reliable but not guaranteed, and you do not have the legal right to force the mother to undergo the tests anyway. If she has had the test but is refusing to tell you the answer that would be a different issue but given how long the legal system takes the baby would probably be here before you had it resolved.
The beautiful things about a baby especially the first child is a surprises where you share with your love one whether he or she appears to this world.
In Scotland they don't tell either parent the sex of the unborn baby as there were too many Asian family's having abortions if the child was female.
No, because it would mean performing a medical procedure on the woman (or disclosing her medical records) without her consent.
I'm afraid your unborn baby isn't a person yet under the law (whether that's morally right or wrong) so you can't get access yet!
No nero_drago, you don't have a legal right to know. For some people if they know what the sex is, they may try to terminate the baby and in England this is illegal.
